HIRO GALLERY is pleased to participate in Art Fair Tokyo 2025.

We will present a three-artist exhibition featuring Daisuke Samejima, Curtis Talwst Santiago, and Vasilis Avramidis.

Daisuke Samejima (Japan, 1979-) is known for his “Flat Ball” series, where familiar street scenes are seamlessly connected across a 360 degrees spherical surface. These spheres, depicting landscapes that feel universally familiar, shift infinitely in expression depending on the viewer’s perspective. By looking into them from different angles, the viewer is freed from the constraints of everyday perception, offering a chance to reexamine the surrounding space and time.

Last year, Samejima held a large-scale solo exhibition at the Seaside Gallery in Pingtung, Taiwan. In this exhibition, he presents an installation featuring a giant, 100 cm-diameter sphere suspended in a rotating manner, alongside several smaller Flat Balls, each 17 cm in diameter.

Curtis Talwst Santiago (Canada, 1979-) explores the full spectrum of emotions tied to human relationships, delving deeply into history, memory, and personal identity. His works often engage with themes of diaspora and the retelling of historical narratives. This exhibition showcases new paintings and miniature dioramas from his Infinity Series, housed in antique jewelry boxes.

This marks the first time HIRO GALLERY presents his works, serving as a preview for his debut solo exhibition in Japan, which will be held simultaneously at Bambinart Gallery and HIRO GALLERY from the end of March.

Vasilis Avramidis (Greece, 1981-) takes portraits, still lifes, architecture, and landscapes depicted in classical paintings and photographs as his motifs, blending them within his oil paintings to create surreal images experienced in his imagination. Rather than merely reproducing existing images, he attempts to reconstruct these motifs anew on canvas based on his own visual experiences.

Avramidis' works, which have gained high popularity at overseas art fairs, will be presented at a Japanese art fair for the first time.

ヒロ画廊はアートフェア東京2025に出展いたします。

この度は鮫島大輔、カーティス・トールウェイスト・サンティアゴ、ヴァシリス・アヴラミディスの3人展を開催いたします。

鮫島大輔（日本、1979-）は、身近な街角の風景を球面上で360°つなげて描く「フラットボール」シリーズで知られています。誰もがどこかで見たような風景が描きこまれた球体は、覗き込む角度によって無限に表情を変え、日常の視点から鑑賞者を解放し、自分を取り囲む空間と時間を認識し直すきっかけを与えます。

昨年は台湾の看海美術館にて大規模な個展を開催いたしました。本展では直径100cmの巨大な球体作品を回転式で吊り下げるインスタレーションを展示するほか、直径17cmのフラットボールも複数紹介いたします。

カーティス・トールウェイスト・サンティアゴ（カナダ、1979-）の作品は人間関係に伴うあらゆる感情を探求し、歴史や記憶、個人のアイデンティティを深く掘り下げ、しばしばディアスポラや歴史的物語の語り直しをテーマに制作しています。本展では新作絵画とアンティーク ジュエリーボックスに収められたミニチュア・ジオラマ（インフィニティ・シリーズ）を発表します。

ヒロ画廊からは初のご紹介となり、3月末よりバンビナート ギャラリーと2会場同時に開催される日本初個展のプレビューとして位置付けられます。

ヴァシリス・アヴラミディス（ギリシャ、1981-）は、古典絵画や写真に描かれた肖像、静物、建築、風景をモチーフに、油彩画の中でそれらを融合させながら、想像の中で体験した超現実的なイメージを描き出します。単に既存のイメージを再現するのではなく、自身の視覚的経験をもとに、キャンバス上でモチーフを新たに再構築することを試みています。

海外のアートフェアで高い人気を博しているアヴラミディス作品を、国内アートフェアにて初めてご紹介いたします。
