We held Akira Shimizu's (1936 - ) solo exhibition, "Akira Shimizu x Tatsumi Hijikata -Possibilities of Contemporary Art and Performing Art- vol. 2," in HIRO GALLERY IZUOKAWA, as a succession of the one in 2019.

Akira Shimizu is one of the artists who belonged to the Japanese "Anti-art" movement. These artists tried utilizing waste materials to make paintings, sculptures, and installations or doing extreme performances. That was symbolized by the Yomiuri Independent exhibition from the beginning of the 1960s.

This exhibition focuses on the drawings, installations, and posters of the artist who pursued the possibilities of art together with Tatsumi Hijikata, a performing artist at the time. The works created through the collaboration between the two artists will allow you to visually and olfactorily feel Japan's climate, customs, and life.

ヒロ画廊伊豆大川にて、2019年に引き続き清水晃（1936 - ）の個展「清水晃×土方巽 -現代美術と舞台芸術の可能性- vol. 2」を開催いたしました。

清水晃は1960年代初めより、読売アンデパンダン展を中心に起こった廃物を利用した絵画、彫刻、インスタレーション、パフォーマンスなどの表現による「反芸術」活動に登場したアーティストの一人で、本展は当時舞台芸術の土方巽と共に芸術の可能性を追求してきたドローイング、インスタレーション、ポスター作品を中心に紹介いたします。両者のコラボレーションにより生まれた作品は日本の風土、習慣、生命を視覚的かつ嗅覚的に感じ取れる展示となっております。ご高覧いただき誠にありがとうございました。
