From Aug. 21st [Sat.] to 31st [Tue.] in 2004, Bunkamura Art Show 2004 “LANDING” was held at the Bunkamura Gallery in Shibuya. This group exhibition was founded for spotting and presenting the artists who will lead the next generation. HIRO GALLERY introduced Shoko Imano for the first exhibition.

“LANDING,” the theme of the exhibition, means the relaying point or arriving point that every human reach to after the flight by the name of life, and the process to get there. If you compare a creative activity of an artist to a flight of an airplane, it is given the connection with others and the social value when it landed the airports called galleries and museums.

The mark of eyeshadow is put on the hand. It makes a complicated gradation with the under skin. On the hand and the eyeshadow that brilliantly decorates faces, There are the turning point between daily life and the opposite, and, a vague fluctuation.

2004年8月21日(土)から8月31日(火)にかけて、渋谷Bunkamura GalleryでBunkamura Art Show 2004 “LANDING” が開催されました。次世代を担うアーティストを発掘、発信するために創立されたこのグループ展の第一回に、ヒロ画廊からは今野尚行を紹介しました。

参加アーティストは以下の6人です。

稲垣智子 / 今野尚行 / 大谷有花 / 大森暁生 / 呉亜沙 / 渡部裕二

テーマの「LANDING」は、人間がそれぞれに日々の生活を営む中で、その人生というフライトを経てたどり着く中継地や到着点、そこへ至る過程を意味しています。アーティストの創作活動を飛行機のフライトと例えるなら、アーティストはギャラリーや美術館といったエアポートに着陸することで人とのつながり、社会的な意味づけを与えられます。

手に押し付けられたアイシャドーの跡。その下地となる肌とも相まって、複雑なグラデーションを作り出しています。顔を鮮やかに彩るアイシャドー、それをふき取る手には非日常と日常の転換点、曖昧なゆらぎがあらわれています。
