Cecco Bonanotte Exhibition - La Divina Commedia was held from Nov. 10th to Dec. 13th 2006 in the Italian Cultural Institute Tokyo.

La Divina Commedia - the Divine Comedy, is one of the greatest achievements in the world history of literature. It was written by a medieval Italian poet, Dante Alighieri (1265 - 1321). The Divine Comedy was represented in 103 pieces of drawings by Cecco Bonanotte, the leading contemporary Italian artist.

‘The tableaus of “La Divina Commedia” express a continuous scene with simplicity and lightness. In the scene, the thin and dreamy atmosphere encloses the fragments of reality made by small individual things. Through unstable and light dream, I worked on the fundamental themes of human beings. That is, about Love, Happiness, Limit of human, and Life.‘ (Cecco Bonanotte)

東京・九段下のイタリア文化会館で、2006年11月10日から2006年12月13日にかけて、「チェッコ・ボナノッテが描いた ダンテ「神曲」展」が開催されました。

中世イタリアの詩人ダンテ・アリギエーリ（1265 - 1321）の遺した、世界史上に燦然と輝く大叙事詩『神曲』。その『神曲』を、現代イタリアを代表する彫刻家チェッコ・ボナノッテが103枚のドローイングであらわしました。

「『神曲』のタブローはそのひとつひとつが、シンプルさと軽妙さをもって、一続きの場面を表現しています。そこでは希薄となり夢幻の様相を帯びた大気が、個々の小さな事物が形作るひとつの現実の断片を包み込んでいるのです。儚く軽やかな夢を通して、私は人間存在の大きなテーマに取り組みました。すなわち、愛、幸福、人間の限界、人生についてです」（チェッコ・ボナノッテ）
